My husband and I went to the supermarket yesterday and he found a new kind of beer that he never tried before.

A new beer in my experience - Apoftel Bräu
« Reply #1 on: July 29, 2011, 12:04:50 AM »
A new beer in my experience, indeed.  As you know, I prefer red wine (if we mention the alcoholic drinks), but sometimes, may be once per month, I can drink some beer.
Let's see more details about these four beers on the picture -

 The right one is

Apoftel Bräu

. It's alc. vol. 5,0%. We can see an old man, with red clothes and white beard, with a big beer in his hands. He looks like a Western saint. In fact, the name (it's German) of the beer means "Apostles brewing" (http://translate.google.cn/?hl=en#de|en|apoftel%20Brau). Under the brand we can read: "Erstmals Gebraut 1713", which means "Brewed for the first time in 1713" (http://translate.google.cn/?hl=en#de|en|Erstmals%20Gebraut%201713).Under it - "Gebraut Nach Dem Deutschen Reinheitsgebot" (Brewed according to the German Purity Law - http://translate.google.cn/?hl=en#de|en|Gebraut%20Nach%20Dem%20Deutschen%20Reinheitsgebot), Imported from Germany. Also you can see the word "beer" in different languages, including the Bulgarian "бира". The ingredients are water, barley malt and hop extract.

The black one (on the left side) is also a German, Apoftel Bräu beer. The biggest difference is that it's a strong beer (alc. 7,9% vol.) and you can read an "EXTRA STRONG" label on the can.

In Chinese they call them: 修士啤酒  and  修士烈性啤酒. I saw it on the Chinese label.
A fan of science, philosophy and so on. :)
