Cape Verde

Welcome to the exotic Cape Verde Islands floating in the wilds of the Atlantic Ocean! With long, bone-white sand beaches, magnificent mountain ranges, lush interior with breathtakingly beautiful scenery, a unique blend of African, Portuguese and Creole cultures, old colonial buildings, crystal clear warm sea with cool breezes offering good conditions for water sports, including great scuba diving, surfing, kite surfing and marlin fishing, Cape Verde Islands are an ideal destination to spend a vacation you will remember forever. Holidays in Cape Verde are something special and more than adventurous as each island is dramatically different with its own appeal offering tropical greenery and desert-like landscapes with still soaring volcanoes. The island experiences wonderful weather all year round and there is no 'the best' time to visit the islands.

Officially known as the Republic of Cape Verde (Republica de Cabo Verde in Portuguese), the island country of Cape Verde is an archipelago of volcanic origin, comprising ten islands and five islets divided into the Windward (Barlavento) group with Santo Antao, Sao Vicente, Sao Nicolao, Boa Vista, Sal, Santa Luzia, Branco and Razo, and the Leeward (Sotavento) group with Maio, Santiago, Fogo and Brava. Located in the Atlantic Ocean, some 350 miles off the northwest coast of Africa the island has a total surface area of approximately 4.000 sq km. The highest peak is Pico do Cano, an active volcano, situated on Fogo. The island was discovered by the Portuguese in 1456.

With a surface of 991 sq km, Santiago is the largest island of the archipelago boasting predominantly green and mountainous interior perfect for hiking and palm-fringed white sandy beaches, where you can relax and sunbathe. For travelers short on time, a circular tour can be completed in just a day. Santiago has it all, offering something for everyone.

The northernmost Santo Antao is the second largest island featuring rugged peaks and deep verdant valleys, lush forests and endemic brush vegetation. Known as the 'Island of the Mountains' the island offers fine hiking opportunities and spectacular drives along coastal roads promising stunning views. The highest point is Tope de Coroa at 1,979 meters. In Santo Antao do not miss out to visit the village of Fontainhas, perched on the edge of a rock above a deep Ribera with unique houses lining the street.

Boa Vista is the third largest island with an area of 620 sq km, known as the Island of Dunes and Beaches. This desert island is home to miles of sand dunes, with one or two oases. It is the largest centre of reproduction for eastern Atlantic Caretta turtle and the resting place for the sole colony of the Rabil bird. Here you will also find a variety of accommodation options, from self-catering apartments to all-inclusive luxury hotels.

Built on cliffs overlooking a bay, Praia, formerly Praia de Santa Maria, is the capital city of Cape Verde, a very relaxed city with a population of about 105,000 inhabitants. Though Praia lacks many sightseeing opportunities, instead it boasts incredible nightlife and several pretty good beaches. Other attractions include Cidade Velha (the old city of Praia), ruins and old buildings, as well as the attractive fishing village of Tarrafal featuring one of the island's best beaches. The colorful local fruit and vegetable market as well as the fish market are also worth to pay a visit.

For many travelers Cape Verde is a real Paradise on Earth, offering an affluent mix of holiday experiences and a wealth of 'to see' and 'to do' things to suit any taste and need from boat trips between the islands, to bird watching- a popular pastime on the island, to trekking in the best and most beautiful sites. The choice is yours.

If it's vibrant nightlife you're looking for head to the picturesque island of Sal, where the lively atmosphere of hip bars and restaurants and hot nightclubs will keep you entertained at all hours. If you plan your holidays in Boa Vista, you shouldn't miss out Morro Negro, the site or the name given to the region of Boa Vista featuring a light house on top of a huge rocky hill with wondrous and unrivalled views of the whole East Coast of the island.

Santo Antao, an island bursting with jagged peaks and deep ribieras (valleys) providing a majestic terrain is a hiker's paradise. The road journey from Porto Novo to Ribiera Grande is, perhaps, one of the greatest road journeys on the globe, offering mesmerizing and fantastic views of the surroundings. Those who are fascinated by spectacular volcanic landscapes can choose Isla de Fogo (Fire Island) as a holiday getaway, where the still active volcano dominates a landscape of black sand beaches and ancient volcanic lava flows.

Cape Vedre holidays are very popular with surfers and windsurfer due to the trade winds that create ideal surfing conditions. Ponta Preta on the south west of Sal is a perfect spot, offering one of the world's greatest breaks, during the winter season. Diving and fishing holidays are also popular in Cape Verde. Much of Cape Verde presents an underwater world of massive rock formations, caves, canynons, and ledges and in many areas marine life is plentiful, creating a haven for scuba divers. For the game fishing enthusiast Ilha do Sal has a world class wahoo fishery. The best fishing season is between July and October.

Easter Island

Easter Island

Can you imagine a place famous for what happened there many years before and what kind of evidence has been left before? Such is Easter Island. The triangular-shaped Easter Island is one of the most remote and isolated inhabited places on earth, located in the South Pacific between Chile and Tahiti. Consisting of a scant 64 miles of land with three extinct volcanoes, it is also one of the most strange and mysterious places. Easter Island is home to striking hand-carved immense statues, called moai, face-like giant stones, weighing many tons each. So far over 880 moai have been found, and archaeologists think that there may still be many more either buried or hidden. The moai statues are asymmetrical and only one has legs and is called Tukuturi. It is believed that they represent locals, ancestors of those who built them.

Discovered by Dutch explorer and sea captain Jacob Roggeveen on Easter Sunday (hence its name) in 1722, the Also called Rapa Nui (meaning Great Rapa) by modern islanders, the island also houses extensive rock art carvings and paintings with unique motifs, being a true model of human spirit. Half of the island's 5,000 inhabitants are Polynesian but today they are citizens of Chile.

'Must see' attractions include Ahu Tahai, a ceremonial platform in Tahai that is made of rounded beach stones; Rano Kau, 400 meters volcano boasting panoramic views; Ahu Tongariki, an immense platform from where 15 statues stand facing the island; Orongo Village, a not-to-be-missed lake-filled crater where you can find remnants of the Birdman cult, Rano Raraku quarry, the most beautiful crater filled with water and plantation, and the walled structures at Ahu Vinapu, as well as the World Heritage site Rapa Nui National Park, where you will find the most important archeological resources of the island. Do not expect lush green forests, as there are only a few trees on the island. Easter Island boasts magnificent beaches but the best swimming is at the palm-fringed white sandy Anakena Beach or Ovahe on the north coast.

Fishing is a popular activity on the island and the natives are exceedingly expert in the numerous methods of capturing them. The most highly esteemed species include bonito, dolphin, ray and porpoise, as well as swordfish, shark, rock fish and flying-fish. Shell fish are also plentiful. Trekking in the several trails of Easter Island is really a great adventure, allowing you to fully experience the natural and archaeological beauty of this special place. The most recommended walks are the very demanding Patrimonial Route, the three-hour climb of Mount Terevaka, and the walk around the Poike peninsula.

Scuba diving and snorkeling are also popular activities in Easter Island. With its crystal clear and pollution-free waters, visual paradise offered by the flora and fauna and visibility up to 50 meters in deep sea, Easter Island is a true diver's and snorkeler's paradise. The scuba diving off Easter Island features unique caves, walls, corals and fish, though it is not for beginners as the water is cool.

With rich fascinating history, gorgeous beaches, spectacular highlights and the most awesome collection of prehistoric monuments in the Pacific, Easter Island is an evocating place to explore and discover!

Pouch Island

http://www.zhuhaily.com/uploads/allimg/110305/1_110305185728_1.jpg

Pouch island is located in the end of southwest of Zhuhai city. There are no crowded visitors in this island, so it is a rare pure land. There are 12 bays like Big South Bay, Small South Bay, Big Trees Bay, Longtond Bay and large tracts of virgin forests, the sand is fine on the beach, it is a good place to fly the mood.

Things to do:

Play water in Big South Bay, listen to the waves: The Great South Bay of nearly 5.5 km is suitable for swimming and other water activities. The beach was clean and bright,  and soft at night, seems the glory of the moon are accumulated here in the Great South Bay Beach, no wonder it is known as "silver beach". Sand on Great South Bay beach is fine and particle uniformity. Pick a fine day, tread through the beach, you can hear the rustling.

Night hunting crabs: Catching crab is the most interesting program on the beach at night. It's really dark at night on this island, listening to the sound of waves lapping, looking at the moon and stars, with a flashlight, a small bucket, where the light falling on, crabs are crazy to run around, and people run quickly after them, embarrassed and happy. If you are lucky, you can see here the spectacle "sea fireflies glow in the dark". Also on the beach you can play fireworks and  make a beautiful wish....

Adventure in deep jungle:  There is also a very fun project Pouch island --the jungle adventure. The mountain connects with the sea here, terrain is dangerous with 400 hectares of secondary natural forest. Due to Pouch Island is a military fort in the time of wars, it still retains a lot of old military facilities, such as the lookout, bunkers, shelter and so on, as well as the United Nation's Red Cross donation "windmill" (wind turbine). All these historical relics add a mysterious color to pouch Island Tourism.

Here the mountain spring flows continuously, when pediment is brilliant, groups of butterflies rise and dance in a happy mood, forming a plurality of natural "butterflies". Play water on the beach, cliff viewing waves, Fisher guest, net fishing are also good entertainments.

Tingtao Hotel is the best on the island. There are also a row of wooden house --Holiday House and separated cabins closest to the sea. Of course you can rent tents.
