A man and an alligator walk into a bar. The bartender says, "Whoa man, you can't have an alligator in here!!!" The man replies, "Don't worry, its a trained alligator." Bartender, "I don't care if its trained or not, you can't have an alligator in a bar, man!" Man, "Alright, check this out." The man then opens the alligator's mouth, places his arm in the alligators mouth, closes it, then grabs a stick and starts bashing the alligator over the head. After a few whacks, the man calmly places down the stick, opens the alligators mouth, and pulls out his unharmed arm. "And anyone in the bar could do the same thing!" An old man in the back of the bar raises his hand and says, "Well, I'll give it a try, but I don't want you smacking me over the head with that stick!"
 :P :D ;D

Artifical neuron mimicks function of human cells

Scientists at Karolinska Institutet have managed to build a fully functional neuron by using organic bioelectronics. This artificial neuron contain no ‘living’ parts, but is capable of mimicking the function of a human nerve cell and communicate in the same way as our own neurons do.

Animals / What breed is my cat
« on: June 27, 2015, 11:57:55 PM »

What breed is my cat

This is a thread for you, who wonder about "What breed is my cat?" There are many breeds of cats! It's not like only 5 or only 10. Many breeds. Take a look: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cat_breeds#Breeds
The following list of cat breeds includes domestic cat breeds and domestic/wild hybrids. The list includes established breeds recognized by various cat registries, new and experimental breeds, distinct domestic populations not being actively developed, and lapsed breeds.

Inconsistency in breed classification among registries means that an individual animal may be considered different breeds by different registries. For example, The International Cat Association's Himalayan is considered a colorpoint version of the Persian by the Cat Fanciers' Association while the CFA's Javanese is considered a color variation of the Balinese by TICA.

The domestic short-haired and domestic long-haired cat are not breeds, but terms used in the cat fancy to describe cats of a general type, that do not belong to a particular breed.
