Wild Flowers
« on: March 09, 2016, 09:26:45 AM »
These are wild flowers that spring up in the yard every year. These will be out for a week or so, then some of the new varieties will show up. These were taken in my yard just to show you as they are now blooming. Some didn't come out due to poor photographic skills and a bright sun that washed out the view screen so I could not tell exactly what I was imaging.

A little later in the season, the purple ones you see in the last image will be everywhere. When you look at it from a long distance angle you won't see grass, you'll see a purple ground cover.

I mowed my grass last week. That's how fast this stuff grows.
When you put down the good things you ought to have done, and leave out the bad ones you did do — well, that’s Memoirs. ~ Will Rogers

« Reply #1 on: March 10, 2016, 02:17:52 AM »
We like photos. I think we have even something like blurry photo collection in thi forum or something like this. ;D So your photos are more than welcome! I'm not a photography specialist. And for my eye these are just normal, good, interesting and also useful photos, very related to this board. :) Pretty plant photos! Thanks!
I'm so good at SEO!

Yes. Exactly. It's a forum that pays a big attention of the photography, but it's not some professional photography forum. So, we're glad to see all kind of photographs -- professional, semi-professional and I even upload some of our blurry photos (it's not a collection, just some in the related threads).
I think these photographs are good enough. They're clear and I think the colors are pretty real/natural. What more we need?
I'm almost sure that the the 4-th plant is common here in some fields and gardens, parks...
I'm not good at botany (but I like this science). So, I just may guess: on the 1-st photograph I see a leaf of geranium (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geranium) and many lucerne(aka alfalfa) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfalfa).
You know what? If I'm a billionaire and I have some good passive incomes (like I buy some garages and I rent them to people to make shops, restaurants, offices, etc.), then I'll have a lot of free time to spend on purely intellectual activities. And one of this activity should be to learn the names of as many as possible plants and to enlarge my music culture. :)
A fan of science, philosophy and so on. :)
