The meaning of some "omni-" words

  Because of the fact that it's an omnilogy website, I think it's necessary to explain exactly over here the meaning of the words with "omni-", i. e. the "omni-" words. We mentioned some of them more or less before. Now I'll right more concretely about each of them (and some others).

Omnilogy

 Omnilogy is the science (or just the knowledge) about everything. It's like a synonym of the word encyclopedism ([enˌsaɪklə'pi:dɪzəm]; [ɪnˌsaɪklə'pidɪzəm]).

 

Omnipresence

 The word omnipresence means the state of being widespread or constantly encountered; to be everywhere (at the same time). This is the meaning of the word. If it's really possible for somebody or something is another question.

 

Omnipotence

  The word omnipotence means the quality of having unlimited power, unlimited abilities. This is the meaning of the word. If it's really possible is just another question.

 

Omniscient

 The word omniscient means "knowing everything".

 

Omnivore

 The word omnivore ([ˈɒmnɪvɔː(r)]; [ˈɑːmnɪvɔːr]) means somebody (human or another life thing) that eats "everything", i. e. food of both plant and animal origin.

 

Omnicompetent

 The word omnicompetent means someone/something who/which is able to judge and/or deal with all matters. If it's really possible to exist is another question.

 Well, the word-forming element "omni-"'s meaning is "all" and it has a Latin origin.

One way to explore the inner level of true honesty and integrity is to see how much you trust others.

To trust others (when most or, at least, many of them are dishonest) is only showing naiveness. No matter how much you're honest, if you have the knowledge that many (or most) of the others are going to lie, you can't make another reasonable choice except to be careful and not to trust.
 

If you see the world as you are, you can show more people that they are basically dishonest and that they cannot be trusted.

 Why?! It stipulates that every "you" (all of us) is "basically dishonest". It's too extreme. There are still honest people.

One danger of lying is that not only would you not believe them, but you would also not be believed by others.

That's so true!

Everyone knew Pinocchio would be lying if his nose grew out, but not his eyes and not even his ears.

 Yes, so what? Just a truism.

... I don't think anyone is 100% honest.

100% is the ideal. It's rare something to be ideal. It's sometimes impossible (or nearly impossible) for a person to be honest. (Because it may be to dangerous and/or counterproductive (i. e. having the opposite of the desired effect).

Maybe you stretch the truth a little to make the story sound better, because it is second nature and normal, or you don't realize that you often lie.

Of course, there are so many people all around the world. Some are telling the raw story, others stretch more or less the truth of the story and also there are big liars as well. Different people, different degrees of honesty/dishonesty.

 Absolutely!  It's a colorful festival -- orange and/or yellow pumpkins (mostly Jack-o'-lanterns, of course), white ghosts and skeletons, black bats, colorful witches (depends on the witch but usually you may see at least 2-3 colors on them), gray zombies (and others), black spiders (and others), yellow scarecrows (and others), bloody (red) things (I dislike them, because I don't thing Halloween has to be related to bleeding, hurting, blood, violence, etc., but it's the nowadays reality -- some guys just prefer to produce and to sell these bloody things like bleeding hands, bleeding heads and so on), black cats, green frogs, gray owls (and others) and so on, and so on.
 It's an interesting festival too. It's full of imaginary subjects like vampires (and those mentioned above -- zombies, ghosts, witches, etc.) and real ones like bats, curved pumpkins, cats, frogs, etc. There are also semi-real things like walking skeletons or talking scarecrows. Everything is like a fairy tale.
 It's one of the days when I'm trying (and often -- able) to forget the real problems and to practice a sort of escapism, enjoying this unique festival.
 Some people may say "Then why not Christmas or something like that?" and my answer is pretty simple: the subjects of Christmas are pretty limited (Santa Claus, X-mas trees, deers and some others), plus the Christmas is related to coldness (winter, snow, ice). I do prefer the autumn colors and the autumn warmness of the Halloween (well, sometimes it's rainy and it's really a sort of "sad Halloween" to be honest... )
 That's it.
