Hainan dao

    Have you ever heard about "Hainan dao" ? Do you know what does it mean? Hainan dao are two Chinese words. They mean "Hainan" and "island", i.e. Hainan island or "Island of Hainan". Ago it was a part of Guandong province of China, but now it is a province itself, i.e. Hainan province. That's why you can see it in both forms Hainan dao and Hainan province (Hainan sheng).
 In Chinese, "Hainan dao" is "海南岛", and "Hainan province" is "海南省".

 Hainan dao is Hainan sheng. That's correct!
