Title: Copy and paste symbols, characters, emoji, and others
Post by: Alexa on October 15, 2014, 12:24:36 AM

Copy-paste characters, symbols, emoji and so on

This is something very useful for many people, who use internet for work, communication, fun and so on. It will be useful for almost each and everyone online.

Introduction about the meaning of "emoji", "symbol" and "character"

Here we're going to reveal the meaning of these words: .

Emoji

Emoji comes from the Japanese language. In Japanese emoji is "絵文字". The Japanese pronunciation is "[emodʑi]". Emoji
Quote
are the ideograms or smileys used in Japanese electronic messages and webpages, the use of which is spreading outside Japan.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emoji http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_Creative_Commons_Attribution-ShareAlike_3.0_Unported_License (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_Creative_Commons_Attribution-ShareAlike_3.0_Unported_License).

Symbol

This is, probably, more easy and you are more familiar with, than the emoji. So symbol is:
Quote
a communication element intended to simply represent or stand for a complex of person, object, group, or idea.
http://www.britannica.com/search?query=symbol

Character

There are a lot of meanings of this word. You may learn them: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/character. (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/character.)

What about the others?

Well, others will be numbers, punctuation and so on. It will be not just useful, but educational in the same time.
 And let's do it. 8)
Title: Copy and paste punctuation
Post by: Gay on October 15, 2014, 01:59:34 AM

Copy-paste punctuation

Well, some of them don't need to copy-paste, because you can type them so easy and fast by your keyboard, for example: !, ?, ;, -, etc., but some of them -- not that easy to find, so here you can have most of them, I think:
1. Copy and paste apostrophe: ' ’  '
2. Copy and paste brackets: [ ]  ( )  { }  ⟨ ⟩
3. Copy and paste colon: :
4. Copy and paste comma: ,  ،  、
5. Copy and paste dash: ‒  –  —  ―
6. Copy and paste ellipsis: …  ...  . . .
7. Copy and paste hyphen: ‐
8. Copy and paste hyphen-minus: -
9. Copy and paste quotation marks: ‘ ’  “ ”  ' '  " "
10. Copy and paste slash: /  ⁄
Good. If you need some more punctuation for copy-paste, just let me/let us know and we'll find it for you, dear omnilogy readers, users, friends, relatives! :)

Shrug emoji

I am pretty sure that most of you met this emoji, but never knew its name -- "shrug emoji". If you need it, I'll represent it here.
So, this is it -- the shrug emoji: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

More about it

More about the origin of it: a person shrugging his or her shoulders in order to indicate a lack of knowledge about something (for example some question/problem) or a lack of care about the result of a situation. Displays as raised shoulders (sometimes in conjunction with raised arms and flat hands). A very good shrug example: (http://www.seo-forum-seo-luntan.com/pics/very good shrug example.gif)
