  There are a lot of things necessary for a good SEO and almost nobody knows them all, but the good SEOers could know the basic important ones. I learned recently about some of these things thanks to a website -- http://speedrankseo.com/ (http://speedrankseo.com/) and I will post some of them here. The unique content is important and good. The better unique content is the one that is is not only unique, but is also readable and relevant to the niche you have. Another one is the high quality links. When it comes to SEO there's no room for error and opting for low quality links will only hurt your site in the long run. And remember this: when you select a SEO company you have a right to know what you are paying for.

SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” It is the process of getting traffic to website from the “free,” “organic,” “editorial” or “natural” listings on search engines. All major search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing have such results, where web pages and other content such as videos or local listings are shown and ranked based on what the search engine considers most relevant to users.In according to me the favorite SEO strategy are:-

1. Select the most relevant Keywords
2. Look what competitors are doing
3. Create a quality content that is linkable and sharable
4. Optimize title and met tags
5. Optimize headings and subheadings
6. Forum Posting
7. Link Building
8. Article Submission
9. Blog Posting
10. Press Release etc.

There are a lot more things that you have to understand and you have to follow.
in SEO
onpage optimization-meta tags,meta descripition,title tags
offpage optimization-social bookmarking,image sharing,profile creation,blog,web2.0,forums,blog commenting etc.
