Title: Avoid the lie about index2.html pi
Post by: Gay on May 14, 2016, 06:31:46 AM

About the "index2.html", "index2.html pi" and "index2.html at the root of this domain"

Avoid it, it's just a lie. I'm not talking about this domain over here. I'm a bit angry that I waste some time and probably I generated some income for a website about Pi (3.14) and I got nothing! If you're searching for some of these:

index2.html

index2.html pi

index2.html at the root of this domain

then probably you're going on my way and I want you to know that there is a blatant lie. Now I'll explain you:

1. I visited the website 3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105820974944592.com. It's an impressive domain name and I admire this choice. But my admirations finished here, because I (as many of you) expected to see "Pi to one MILLION decimal places".
This shows up in Bing (and most probably in other search engines), because this is the title of that website (
Code: [Select]
<title>Pi to 1,000,000 places</title> and
Code: [Select]
<h3>Pi to one MILLION decimal places</h3>).
When you visit its 1st page it's saying that okay, we to wait a minute. We are killing his/her server. He/she used to have a million digits of Pi listed there, and it was really great, but now we have brought his/her server to its knees with our interest in its greatness, so, he's/she's going to hide all those nutty digits for now.
And here comes the blatant lie:
"If you really want to see 1 million digits of Pi, then visit index2.html at the root of this domain."

2. Well, I didn't expect that it's a lie and willingly visited that index2.html (at the root of that domain). And then, OMG:  :o :o :o
Quote
SORRY!  I guess I lied.  The full million digits is now at index3.html.  Somebody is linking to it so
I have to keep moving it around.  Feel free to manually visit index3.html, but if you link to it, I'm
just gonna move it again :)  It's PI DAY and I'm getting too much traffic.  Thanks for understanding!
So, in this way he/she is getting already at least 3 pageviews (and earning more money from Google AdSense).
 3. Well, if you visit after index2.html, index3.html, you will see that there is again nothing what you expected and there is an absurd explanation that  he or she guesses his or her server just can't keep up with us guys. Even when nobody is linking to the million digits, his/her server is still getting bogged down by people manually entering the page. :-X And that's why he or she will has to make it "a little more challenging" to find it. If we really-REALLY want to see the million digits, then we're going to have 'a GUESS' at what the .html file is called!
Can you believe it, can you receive it?  >:(

And another lie is that

It shouldn't be too tough to figure out. :)
>:(

It's so amoral to use these cheap tricks for making the poor people, who need some math knowledge about Pi, to generate for you more pageviews and to spend more time on your site and to end up (most probably) with nothing!

So, instead of trying and wasting your precious time, better check one of ours Pi (http://www.seo-forum-seo-luntan.com/internet/numeromania/msg15012/#msg15012) posts over here, where you will see a lot of Pi decimals. We're not going to lie you!

And I took 7 different screenshots to keep them as a proof, because everyone may edit his/her own website, but we need the truth.

I want to confirm about one of the lies over there. He/she states that it shouldn't be too tough to figure out, but practically you can put in index29000.html or index320000.html. And it shouldn't be too tough to figure out? ::)

Really very unethical way to generate AdSense earnings!

One of the good things about this topic over here is that it will prevent many (or at least -- some) guys to waste time and to get upset, sad, angry, frustrated, etc.
 Exposing lies is useful!
Title: What's so interesting about Pi and its initial 1 000 000 decimals
Post by: SEO on May 14, 2016, 07:01:13 AM
It's bad, of course. But now I started to wonder something else: what's so interesting about Pi and its initial 1 000 000 decimals?! ::)

I think just to know Pi is ~ 3.14 and something more like: 3.14159 or 3.1415926 is enough.

I can't imagine how I may waste time and resources to search a million of decimals. ;D But I don't doubt that there are many around the world, who can do it!

I think that searches (needs) like these:

- 100 Digits of Pi
- First 500 Digits of Pi
- First 50 Numbers of Pi,

make some sense, but 100000, 200000, 300000,... a million :-\... It's really hard to understand.
