Post by: Gay on July 04, 2016, 12:53:50 AM

VR, i.e. Virtual Reality

About the virtual reality. All about it.

It's getting more and more popular in China and in other countries around the world.
Let this thread be about the VR (virtual reality) -- its development, its trends, its kinds and so on; everything about it.

I watched about it on CCTV News. I saw some halls full of VR machines.
Around us -- there are some small ones that order single VR services.
Yesterday Jenny told me about a new one. We went there and I saw a man playing an archery game. The price there is 30 RMB for 20 minutes. Maybe I can try it someday later.
Well, I know that 'VR' often refers to virtual reality -- the computer technology that simulates an environment with which a person may interact, but there are other meanings of this and you may learn about them on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VR.
The VR isn't something new. I used one of these: (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/4d/View-Master_Model_G.jpg/800px-View-Master_Model_G.jpg)By ThePassenger - Own work, CC BY-SA 3.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=6487250. This one is "A View-Master Model G, introduced in 1962".
And here is an older example: Sensorama -- (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/dc/Sensorama-morton-heilig-virtual-reality-headset.jpg)By Minecraftpsyco - Own work, CC BY-SA 4.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=47304870
What I want to try currently is this or something similar: (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/61/HTC_Vive_%282%29.jpg/1024px-HTC_Vive_%282%29.jpg)By Maurizio Pesce - https://www.flickr.com/photos/pestoverde/16948507128, CC BY 2.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=39893593 (I'm not familiar with the names of these tools and I prefer to learn about other things.)
