Lets start with the consonets.
ㄱㄴ ㄷ ㄹ ㅁ ㅂ ㅅ ㅈ ㅊ ㅋ ㅌ ㅍ ㅎ o
g n d r/l m b s j ch k t p h no sound but in batchim postion turns into ng
(turns into l when in batchim) 김
This is an example where batchim is the third symbol on the bottem
Then there is double consonats.
ㄲ ㄸ ㅃ ㅆ ㅉ
kk tt pp ss jj
Now we are at vowels.
a ya eo yeo o yo u yu eu i ae yae e ye wa wae oe weo we wi ui
The rules of batchim.
If an s is below the 2 other symbols it is batchim and in batchim the s turns into a t.
B turns into a p unless there is an n after it then it turns into a m.
R turns into a l in batchim.
G turns into a k in batchim.
And o turns into a ng in batchim.
If any symbol is vertical then the o goes to the left of it like the A in 안
If its horizonital then the o gos on top like this 유
This only applies if there is no consonat that comes before the vowel.
This how how the structioning works in hangul ,consonat and vowel(and in some cases batchim consonate)
The way it is written with batchim is what i did earlier with 김 without the batchim it is 기.
The e in eo and yeo is silent so it sounds like o instead.
Any questions should be posted here.
EDIT:i am making sure there are no mistakes so its getting modifed whenever i see a mistake.

So useful! Now I understand them better. When I was a kid I imagined them like characters. Now I know they're just letters.

Every letter is a symbol.
Even if we dont consider it a symbol it is.
