Yahoo’s suite of services will no longer be accessible from mainland China.


Tonight I saw that "As of November 1st, 2021 Yahoo’s suite of services will no longer be accessible from mainland China. Yahoo products and services remain unaffected in all other global locations. We thank you for your support and readership." (Source: https://www.yahoo.com/# (https://www.yahoo.com/#)). In Chinese it is: "2021 年 11 月 1 日起，用户将无法从中国大陆使用 Yahoo 的产品与服务。这并不影响 Yahoo 在全球其他地方的产品及服务。我们感谢你一直以來的支持。" and in Traditional Chinese it is: "2021 年 11 月 1 日起，用戶將無法從中國大陸使用 Yahoo 的產品與服務。這並不影響 Yahoo 在全球其他地方的產品及服務。我們感謝您一直以來的支持。"

 I used to read the Yahoo news from time to time, especially when I'm in the bus. I have no idea why it will no longer be accessible from China. ???

This site ranks #12  in global internet traffic and engagement over the past 90 days (https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/yahoo.com#section_traffic (https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/yahoo.com#section_traffic)). After the loss of the Chinese visitors it's going to decrease. Maybe it'll drop to #20 or something like that... I don't know. :-X

No more Yahoo mail too! "As your account connects to our services from mainland China, we are reaching out today to let you know that your Yahoo Mail account will be closed on February 28, 2022." :( (From a recent Yahoo's e-mail -- Yahoo <info@service.comms.yahoo.net>.)
