Title: The temperature of a leaf 🌿

Leaf temperature

I like learning about everything. Here is some information about the leaves temperature:

The temperature of a tree leaf depends on several factors, including air temperature, sunlight exposure, humidity, and wind. However, in general:

- In direct sunlight, a leaf can be several degrees hotter than the surrounding air, sometimes 10–20°C (18–36°F) higher due to solar radiation.
- In shade or with good transpiration, the leaf temperature is often close to or slightly below the air temperature because evaporation (transpiration) cools it.
- On windy days, leaves lose heat faster, keeping them closer to air temperature.
- At night, leaf temperature can drop below air temperature due to radiative cooling.

For example, on a 30°C (86°F) sunny day, a sunlit leaf might reach 40–50°C (104–122°F), while a shaded or well-watered leaf might stay near 30°C or lower.
