Ghent, Belgium

A small city full of the the medieval taste, alias "Flower City", named from the world-famous flower show every five years.

Attractions: St. Baffoskathedral is the home of Mystic Lamb, a remarkable painting by Hubert and Jan van Eyck that was suffering from the ravages of age and modem-day pollution until American Express provided the funds for its restoration. The massive, two-sided triptych now sits safely behind glass in a well-humidified space.

Selexyz Bookstore in Maastricht, Holland

The selexyz bookstore, located in downtown Maastricht, is installed in an old Dominican church. The architects created what amounts to a monumental walk-in bookcase that rises up three stories. There’s also a café, housed on the former altar, with a large central reading table in the shape of a cross; just call it an article of faith.

Tikka

There's an Indian cuisine called Tikka. The Tikka is originally cinnabar point on the forehead in the locals , or small pieces barbecue dishes. But in general, Tikka refers to a cut of meat marinated in yogurt and spices. There are different kinds, such as chicken Tikka, tandoori etc.

Just thinking about Chicken Tikka makes my mouth water. Chicken Tikka Masala is a traditional and very popular Indian chicken dish which is bursting full of flavour and colour.

Recipe for Chicken Tikka:

Ingredients:
    1 Boneless Chicken Breast (cubed)
1 tsp. of Ginger (Adrak) (chopped & crushed)
2 cloves of Garlic (Lehsan) (crushed)
    2/3 cup of Plain Yogurt
1 tsp. Red Chilli Powder (Pisi Lal Mirch) (or to taste)
¼ tsp. Turmeric Powder (Pisi Haldi)
    ¼ tsp. Salt
    ¼ tsp. Curry Powder
    ¼ tsp. Garam Masala Powder
¼ tsp. Coriander Seeds (Saabut Dhania)
    ¼ tsp. Corn Starch
3 tbsp. Lemon Juice (Nimbu Arakh)
1 tbsp. Olive Oil (Zaitoon Ka Tail)

Directions:

   1. Mix together all of the ingredients (accept the corn starch) into a mixture. Take ½ cup of this combine mixture and set it aside for later. Let the chicken marinate in the rest of the mixture for 3-4 hours.

   2.  After the chicken is done marinating, heat up the grill and grill the chicken on skewers. While they're grilling, take ½ cup of the marinade that was set aside and put it in a small saute pan. Before heating it, mix in the corn starch. Heat the sauce until it thickens and then let it bubble for a while. Set that aside until the chicken is done. http://www.angelfire.com/country/fauziaspakistan/chickentikka.html

Giverny, France

French town Giverny. Too gorgeous to be like human world, just a fairy-tale place.Giverny is perhaps best known as the home of Claude Monet during the last years of his life. The home of Impressionist painter Claude Monet, Giverny is a great day trip from Paris.

If the small town of Giverny, France, looks oddly familiar, there’s a good reason for that: Impressionist painter Claude Monet lived here between 1883 and his death in 1926. The village of Giverny and its surrounding environs became the subject of many Monet works, with the painter even recreating his own personal garden on canvas.

Located along France’s River Seine, Giverny is home to slightly more than 500 people. The town is an ideal port of call for river cruises thanks to its quaint, charming nature and the influence of Claude Monet.

Dunnottar Castle, Scotland

Dunnottar Castle has one of the most spectacular locations of any castle. A collection of buildings from various periods crown the top of a promontory that rises steeply from the surrounding sea and land.

Dunnottar was in use many centuries before any of the remaining buildings were erected. It was the site of one of Scotland's first churches and remained an important Christian site for many years before being developed into a fortress.

Despite its obvious defensive potential Dunnottar was successfully captured many times. Nothing remains of the fortress King Donald II died defending during a Viking invasion in the late 9th century, or that English forces twice captured only to be retaken by the Scots, on the first occasion led by William Wallace and on the second by Sir Andrew Moray. These early wooden castles were routinely burnt down during or after a siege.

The most prominent building still standing is the L-shaped tower-house built towards the end of the 14th century by William Keith, Earl Marischal of Scotland. In the late 16th and early 17th centuries the castle became much more palatial with the construction of new ranges around a large courtyard enclosing a bowling green. http://www.castlexplorer.co.uk/scotland/dunnottar/dunnottar.php
