很久以前，我曾与一位哲学同事分享过我的一个想法：“开”——一种超越监狱及惩罚建筑学概念的体系，亦是其完全对立的另一极。

从历史上看，正义与社会秩序始终围绕着这条不对称的轴线构建：惩罚，以及更多的惩罚……而这一体系的具体建筑载体就是监狱（一个实施隔离、剥夺、往往伴随着痛苦与不公，并在理想状态下对逾越“社会契约”边界者进行矫正的地方）。然而，对于那些系统性地构建并遵守这一契约的人，我们又给予了什么？

如果说监狱是限制破坏性行为的工具，那么“开”的理念则代表着与它镜像相对、建设性且具备鼓励性质的另一极。“开”不仅是对自由的隐喻，更是一项关于新型社会制度架构的提议。在一个仅由惩罚主导的体系中，美德始终只是“不可见的背景噪音”。人们被期望成为守法公民，但这仅被视为一项最基本的要求，而非值得嘉奖的积极资源。

因此，我的“开”理念改变了这一机制，为个人的建设性贡献引入了有组织、系统性的激励措施。它主张创建公共空间、资源与社会认可机制，并向那些展现出高度利他主义、社会责任感和创造力的人开放（在较小程度上，也面向例如在过去一年中未违反任何法律的人）。

如果说监狱收窄了地平线并隔离了危害，那么“开”则拓宽了可能性并滋养了社会价值。这样的社会将从“反应性模式”转变为“主动性社会系统”。在这种系统中，正义不再仅仅是镇压性的机器，而变成了实现平衡的双向机制。

对善意的鼓励不应与天真的理想主义相混淆；它是对社会资本的可衡量投资。当系统能够看见、衡量并奖赏建设性的选择时，它便改变了社会行为本身的概率分布。

“开”将是一种终极认可：一个健康的社会，不仅不应仅依靠监狱高墙所带来的恐惧来维持，而更应依靠为那些推动社会向前发展的人主动打开可能性与福祉的大门。

I honestly thought I was going to try Infinite Craft the way you try most browser games: quick, curious, then back to whatever I was doing. The whole premise sounded simple enough—start with Water, Fire, Earth, and Wind, drag two elements together, and see what happens.

The first thing I noticed was how satisfying it felt just to play around. You’re not rushing through combat or following a story quest. It’s more like: “What happens if I combine these two?” And the moment you get a new discovery, it doesn’t just sit there—it feels like it’s immediately ready to mess with your next idea.

Combining elements feels like making tiny bets
At first I was just experimenting casually, picking combinations that seemed obvious. I’d see something that looked like it “should” lead to something useful, and I’d go for it like I was cracking a puzzle with basic logic.

Then I started realizing the fun wasn’t knowing the answer. It was being wrong in interesting ways.

A couple of my combinations gave me results I didn’t expect, and that’s when I got hooked. I’d drag two elements together, watch the game reveal the new discovery, and my brain would go straight to the next question: “Okay, so what if I use that with Fire?” Or, “If that came from here, where does it branch next?”

There’s something about that loop—try, discover, immediately reuse—that makes it hard to stop. Even when I “finished” whatever plan I made in my head, I’d still want to run one more experiment just to test whether the result actually holds up.

Why it kept pulling me back: there’s no fixed finish line
One reason I didn’t get bored is that Infinite Craft doesn’t feel like it has one final objective I’m chasing. There’s no single “complete the game” moment waiting at the end of the page. Instead, I kept building this expanding collection of discoveries—materials, ideas, and weird little outcomes that make me curious even when they don’t seem immediately useful.

And because it’s a creative crafting setup, the progress feels personal. My collection starts reflecting what I tried, what I kept retrying, and what surprised me enough to chase further.

Sometimes the same combination doesn’t behave the same
I probably spent way too long trying to repeat a combination I got “right” the first time. I figured that if I did it again, it would just give me the same result—easy.

But in this browser version, results can vary. That made me slow down (in a good way), because it turned the game into more of a curiosity experiment. Retrying isn’t pointless—it’s part of the point. If the outcome changes, then I’m not just memorizing; I’m exploring.

It also made me pay attention to what I had on hand. At one point I made a combo, got something new, and immediately realized I didn’t have the “right” element ready to test the next step. I had to decide whether to keep the board going with what I had, or clear the board and set up again.

The PokéRogue Dex equivalent moment: checking details instead of guessing
I kept wondering about certain discoveries and their context, and that’s where the search function became clutch. Instead of scrolling forever, I could find what I needed in my collection. I also liked that I can sort discoveries by emoji—it sounds silly, but when you’re staring at a list of stuff, it helps you spot patterns fast.

Eventually I also started using the tools more intentionally:

The broom clears the crafting board without deleting discoveries, which is perfect when I’m done with the current setup but I want to keep everything I’ve unlocked.
The trash removes a selected discovery from the collection, which I only did when I knew I was cluttering my list with things I wasn’t going to touch again.
What surprised me most
What surprised me wasn’t that I could make new stuff—it was how quickly the game trained my brain to think in branches.

I’d start with an idea like, “I want something related to X,” then the game would hand me an unexpected result, and suddenly I’d be building a whole different chain. That unpredictability kept it playful instead of stressful.

A few casual lessons I learned
If you’re anything like me, you’ll make rushed choices at the beginning. My advice (based on my own “oops” moments) is simple: don’t treat your first picks like they’re permanent. Clear the board when you need a fresh setup, use search when your collection gets long, and don’t get too attached to an outcome—retrying matters here.

Also, I stopped trying to force “the obvious” path. The real progress came when I let the unexpected discoveries steer what I experimented with next.

"Отвор" като противоположно на "затвор"

  Преди време, съм споделял с колега по философия за идеята ми: "Отворът" нещо отвъд затвора и архитектурата на наказанието; негова противоположност да е.
 Исторически правосъдието и общественият ред винаги са били изграждани около тази асиметрична ос: наказание, още повече наказание... Сградата на тази система е затворът (място за изолация, депривация, често - страдания и несправедливости, и, пожелателно - корекция на онези, които са прекрачили границите на "обществения договор".) Да, обаче какво става с онези, които системно градят, спазват този договор?
 Ако затворът е инструментът за ограничаване на разрушителното поведение, то концепцията за "отвор" представлява неговият огледален, градивен и поощрителен полюс. "Отворът" не е просто метафора за свобода, а предложение за нова институционална архитектоника на обществото. В система, управлявана единствено от наказания, добродетелта остава "невидим фонов шум". От хората се очаква да бъдат спазващи закона граждани, но това се третира като абсолютно базово задължение, а не като активен ресурс, който заслужава награда. Ето и затова концепцията ми за "отвор" променя този механизъм, като въвежда организирано, системно поощрение за градивния принос на човека. Тя предполага създаването на обществени пространства, ресурси и признания, достъпни за индивидите, които показват висока степен на алтруизъм, социална отговорност, творческа градивност, както и, е по-малка степен, за тези, които не са нарушили нито един закон през последната година, например. Ако затворът стеснява хоризонта и изолира вредата, то отворът разширява възможностите и подхранва полезността. Такова общество преминава от реактивен модел към проактивна социална система. В него правосъдието престава да бъде само репресивен апарат и се превръща в двупосочен механизъм за баланс. Поощрението на добрината не бива да се бърка с наивен идеализъм; то е измерима инвестиция в социалния капитал.
